The Bayport-Blue Point School District recently hosted its first “ENL Family Orientation Night” in an effort to introduce families to the district’s many offerings and share important information pertaining to the district’s curriculum.
While in attendance, the community members circulated among a number of stations which included helpful information pertaining to community resources, the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library, health and immunization requirements and how to navigate the district’s website. After parents learned more about the district, they played games with their children, engaged in arts and crafts and enjoyed the provided refreshments.
In addition, eight student volunteers from the Bayport-Blue Point High School’s World Culture Club worked alongside French teacher Ann Marie Allen to assist the attendees throughout the evening.
“All of the high school students were fantastic, and we absolutely could not have run the event without their help,” said Bayport-Blue Point School District ENL/World Languages Chairperson Sally Miller.
