At its two January board of education meetings, Bayport-Blue Point School District honored the winners of the district’s 2020-21 PTA Reflections Contest, part of the National PTA Reflections Program.
Students were asked to “use the arts to share (their) personal reflections on this year’s theme: I Matter Because...” with submissions accepted in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Students were judged on their interpretation of the theme, creativity and technique and winners are eligible to compete at the state level. Bayport-Blue Point School District congratulates the winners on artistry and hard work.
London Sawaya, a student at James Wilson Young Middle School in Bayport-Blue Point School District, was named a winner of district’s PTA Reflections Contest in the visual arts category for her painting on the theme “I Matter Because…”
