Daniel Woods Soars

Congratulations Eagle Scout Daniel Woods!! As a member of Bayport’s BSA Troop 329, Daniel has worked effortlessly to fulfill all of the requirements needed to attain the rank of Eagle.

Throughout his scouting career, Dan has continually helped his community. He held a successful food drive to benefit The Our Lady of the Snow Food Pantry. Dan also fund raised, organized, packaged and sent 100 pounds of self-care supplies to the deployed Airmen of the Air National Guard, in Syria.

Daniel’s Eagle Scout project was the construction of a Memory Garden at The Blue Point Nature Preserve, to honor all who have served. Dan’s project was an idea that arose from his admiration for both the military and first responders, and garnered the support of former Legislator William Lindsay and Councilman Neil Foley. Throughout the planning meetings with Legislator Lindsay, Councilman Foley and several local businesses, during the many scout work hours he managed, to the completion of the project, Dan illustrated his unflagging efforts in becoming an Eagle Scout.

Daniel’s journey along the trail to Eagle has been filled with hard work, numerous community service hours, and great memories. Though he may have reached the pinnacle in the Boy Scouts, his success in life will continue to soar. We are all so proud of you, Dan!
