Gala Scibelli, the Gazette’s Chief Editor and Art Director, has been with the paper from the very first edition, where she’s been an essential component of the Gazette’s evolution from a parade bulletin to two monthly publications that are delivered to thousands of homes each month. A 1993 graduate of Bayport-Blue Point High School, she went on to earn a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan where she excelled at painting. She showcases her impressive talents every day as the Graphic Director of AGC Printing.
Gala is not only the creative force behind the Gazettes’ inviting layout, but the heart of its continued authentic hometown feel. Being a BBP native, Gala works tirelessly month after month to highlight the best aspects of the towns she loves. Fueled by coffee, she tackles the endless logistical labyrinth of advertising, printing, budgets, deadlines, and finicky writers. It’s Gala’s loyalty to the paper's mission and her deep love for her staff that make the Gazettes a continued success.
Gala resides in NYC with her significant other, where she makes the journey each month out to Blue Point. She loves animals, art, and receiving pictures of little Phantoms. When she’s not preserving print media for the next generation, you can find Gala pouring her heart out onto canvas or snuggling her kittens.
