Tony’s Pizza, which served the Bayport Blue Point community for 22 years, has new owners and is set to open shortly. Located at 606 Montauk Hwy, the store has been updated on both the interior and exterior to modernize the space.
The new ownership team is led by Paul Saccoccio who, along with his family, is the owner of the popular pizzeria Gino’s of Ronkonkoma. Alongside Paul, is his long-time friend and business partner Cliff Weinstein and his youngest brother Dan Saccoccio. Other strategic partners include lifelong Bayport residents David and Jake Zwaik from DJT Development and Carlos Delgado from CSD Contracting and Noble Savage Barbershop in Bay Shore.
“When we had the chance to open in Bayport we jumped at the opportunity,” said Paul Saccoccio. “It’s a tight knit community where many of our family and friends call home. We have big shoes to fill as Benny and the Esposito family were deeply connected to the community. We are hoping to establish the Pizzeria brand while still honoring the legacy of Tony’s. Our focus is on simplicity as evident in our name and soon-to-be released menu. We are looking forward to bringing great food with a fun atmosphere to a community already filled with great hospitality operators,” he concluded.
This is the Pizzerias second location after opening in the Smith Haven Mall in July of this year. The menu will consist of approximately 15 specialty pies and classic pizzeria appetizer and dinner items in a condensed menu with a focus on quality versus quantity.
The group expects to have 4 or 5 locations open by the end of next year with a current focus on South Shore long island communities.
The pizzeria is expected to open in the coming weeks pending permits and various approvals.
